Marguerite Hoyesen was diagnosed with COPD/Emphysema in December, 1992. After battling this disease for seven years she began pre-transplant tests last October. On January 27, 2000 she was placed on the list to receive a new lung. The wait for a lung transplant can be as much as two years. Fellow NH VRCC members Marguerite "T" Hoyesen and her husband, Ken "Hoy" Hoyesen need to raise $50,000.00 to help cover the expenses not covered by their insurance, mostly for immunosuppresant drugs after surgery; Drug expenses can run as high as $20,000 per year. So far they have raised a total $15,000.00. They are affiliated with National Foundation for Transplants in Memphis, TN; which is a non profit organization that helps transplant patients raise funds.
