Wow what a great group. Thanks to everyone that came out today.
15 bikes started out with 2 more meeting us at Newcomb's Ranch.
It was great to see some old friends and made some new ones today
as well. Lou and I got to Chaparral at 8:00am and Greg, Jimmy and
Gary were already there. Gary is a new face that Mike Hahn met on
the 210 fwy yesterday with a flat tire. Mike helped him out and
invited him on the ride today. Glad to see him come out and enjoy
the day. Other new people were Herb, Cliff, Cindy, Richard and
Rob brought his daughter Tanne.
We got away on time and made our way up the 215 fwy to the 15
fwy. We made a left turn at the 138 hwy to Lone Pine Canyon road. It
had been raining earlier and the roads were wet. It kept the speeds
down a bit and really made a mess out of our bikes. Looks like some
of us will be busy cleaning them up this weekend. Except Rob of
course. It wasn't dirty enough for him since he's been back from
Alaska. It got quite cold up at the top so we pulled off to let some
of the group put on some warmer clothes. It was down to about 58
degrees for a while. Our next stop was at Newcomb's Ranch where
Carl, Randy and Karen were waiting for us. After about a 45 minute
break we loaded up for the short ride down the Cafe. The road was
dry from there on so it made for some good riding. The weather
warmed up also and got very hot and humid.
They took good care of us at the cafe and the food was very good.
It was really busy so the service was a little slow. Lou help with
the 50/50 and we had a nice $70.00 dollar pot which was won but John
Gera. Randy won a knife and Cindy won a sign.
Well that's about it, Thanks again everybody and hope to see you
on the next ride.
Make you plans now for the Ridin the Ridge Ride on the 26th of
September.
