Solvang
It was a very relaxing and enjoyable day for all of us. It was truly a leisure
morning; many slept in & others (men) were found hovering around their cars
trying to settle the world affairs. The day was overcast & cool and we found
it most enjoyable; by early afternoon the fog cleared to show us a beautiful blue
sky and mild temps.
After breakfast many walked the town of Solvang; others drove to Santa Ynez
and walked its town, had lunch and Jim Sommars bought peaches for all of us.
Doug, Marilyn, Daryl and Rob went into town and walked in and out of shops, we
found a restaurant for lunch and a very, very leisurely lunch was had.
In one of the shops (Del Sol) Marilyn bought some new nail polish and the boys
were great sports to help out the sales clerk on the store's charity. They
agreed to have their PINKIES painted with a clear polish (however in the sun
it turns bright RED). Well, believe you me, we all had fun teasing the
guys. Rob and Doug were truly GREAT SPORTS and I think enjoyed the teasing. I
just hope the pictures turn out for all to see.
Dinner was at another great STEAK HOUSE, "A J's SPURS", where most of us enjoyed another
great steak dinner.
We retired early as Monday will find us on the ROAD AGAIN driving to Monterey.
