Delos, Greece

Our destination early Friday morning was the island of Delos, which is uninhabited except
for occasional archaeologists and a few security guards. It is a small island and the whole
thing is an archaeological site. It is supposed to be the birthplace of Artemis and Apollo
according to Greek mythology. We spent two hours walking with a guide who helped us to
visualize the layouts of the buildings. There is a museum in which they keep the statues
they found, etc. Although they don't generally allow independent tours, there seemed to be
a number of people from the ship wandering around on their own. Without a guide, we think
it would be difficult to know what you are looking at.
As we headed back to the tender and then the ship, we found small tours coming from Mykonos,
 our afternoon stop.
